Gotlands for the win.

Our search for the right sheep for our farm has been a bit exhaustive, but after checking out Gotlands at River Birch Farm, I knew we’d found our breed. Gotland sheep originate from the small island of Gotland, set in the middle of the Baltic Sea, off the coast of Sweden, with bloodlines that date back to the Viking era.  They are easy to lamb, friendly, relatively small and produce gorgeous wool that grows in ringlets in shades of gray. We liked this lady because she’s lambed before and is a great mother. Plus, how gorgeous are these lovely silver locks?
